What to look for
The sequence keeps Brutus close to ground level, framed by the fence and open gateway. His size against the surrounding entrance is the contrast to look for. There is no complicated assignment to explain; the confidence is the story.
A small dog with a recurring brief
The outdoor entrance makes this a companion to the pale archway episode. Both turn a threshold into Brutus’s self-appointed workplace.
